About this place
For a bowl with a little more character, Mikaku’s stamina ramen lets you choose between salt, soy sauce and miso. One diner who tried the salt version described a bowl topped with sliced raw garlic, chashu pork and cabbage. They found the noodles a little insubstantial, but drank every last drop of the soup—a choice for when you want to savour a robust hit of garlic and broth.
If you prefer a more classic ramen, there are soy sauce, salt and miso versions, as well as options with butter, including miso butter ramen. The listed prices are 760 yen for soy sauce or salt, 790 yen for miso and 870 yen for miso butter. One diner described the miso ramen as mild, while another found the miso butter version both light and rich with miso. The two offer different ways to enjoy a miso-based bowl.
Gyoza, priced at 380 yen, makes an easy companion to ramen or an extra dish to share. One diner who ordered gyoza with salt butter ramen and mini fried rice described the fried rice as home-style and the gyoza as notably meaty. Another paired fried rice and gyoza with ramen, recalling that the simple fried rice was easy to enjoy alongside it. Choose a full portion of fried rice when you’re hungry, or the mini serving for a lighter accompaniment.
Dine in at the shop in Higashikohama, Sumiyoshi Ward; it opens for lunch and again in the evening. Published information lists Wednesday and Sunday as closing days, and says that payment is by cash only.
